Currently, the dominance of the Western perspective across the globe has established a fragmented view as the basis of the entire knowledge tradition, rather than the profound concept of unbroken Oneness. Even the development of science, driven by this fragmented thought, has paved the way for destruction. Furthermore, beyond a certain limit, scientific progress appears to have stagnated, failing to answer numerous fundamental questions. Bharat alone can offer the solution to this predicament. In medicine, allopathy faces the crisis of side effects accompanying every cure. A holistic and integral vision is the only remedy. Hence, the welfare of humanity lies in the harmonious integration of Ayurveda’s integral vision with allopathy’s diagnostic technology. A similar situation prevails in commerce and economics. The fragmented perspective has allowed unbridled competition to engulf the world. An exploitation-based market means the economic growth of a few is paid for by the poverty of many. Achieving the noble goal of “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah” (May all be happy) is possible only through the Bharatiya vision of absolute Oneness.

The popular ideal of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (The world is one family) is the sublime manifestation of the Bharatiya Integral Vision. The consciousness of treating the entire cosmos as one's family does not awaken abruptly; it is the ultimate state of the heart's expansion. The boundless, spherical expansion of the mind is the direct realization of the eternal truth of Oneness in existence.

The intimate sense of the individual ‘I’ naturally expands into the ‘Family’. We effortlessly experience the reflection of our own self in our family. This very realization of Oneness is called affinity (Aatmiyata). We naturally unite with the joys, sorrows, dreams, aspirations, and resolves of the family. Beyond the family, specific conscious efforts are required to expand this affinity to the levels of society, the nation, and the entirety of humanity. The Bharatiya way of life seamlessly incorporates these efforts. Experiencing integral Oneness with family, society, the nation, the universe, and ultimately the supreme Divine, and cultivating the generosity of mind for this purpose—these are the paramount elements of Bharatiyata. The training for this boundless expansion of the heart forms the very foundation of the Bharatiya education system.

The direct result of the vision of Oneness is the profound respect for diversity in Bharat. In Bharat, we recognize the scientific truth that when the one supreme element manifests, it expresses itself with absolute uniqueness. No two living entities in the universe are exactly identical; even two leaves of the same tree are never entirely the same. This eternal principle has been deeply imbibed into the Bharatiya way of life. Consequently, we have celebrated and respected diversity in everything—from our cuisine and attire to all our rich traditions. We do not seek to make everyone uniform. We provide every individual the opportunity to blossom and flourish according to their inherent nature (Bījatva). By understanding the internal Oneness, external diversity ceases to be a division. No matter how different things appear on the outside, they are intrinsically one on the inside. Lacking this clarity, the West makes uniformity a prerequisite for unity. The westernization of the entire globe has led to homogenous attire, clothing, and hairstyles everywhere, practically extinguishing the true beauty of diversity.

Originality becomes paramount in art, knowledge, and methodology. Imitation is considered inferior. Fostering originality becomes an essential mandate in education. Originality is the very symptom of life and organic vitality. Uniform production is the domain of machines. The stubborn insistence on uniformity has brought mechanicalness into art and culture. In Bharat, originality itself is celebrated as true art. From childhood, an artist is encouraged to create something profoundly new. Today, however, education has been heavily reduced to mere imitation. Training through blind following is for animals. A crucial defining trait of a human being is the capacity for imagination. Because of our deep respect for diversity, the development of imagination holds supreme importance in Bharatiya education. Today, it is urgently necessary to re-integrate this into our system.

It is precisely due to this deep respect for diversity that an all-inclusive way of life developed in Bharat. ‘Ekam Sat Viprāh Bahudhā Vadanti’ — Truth is one, but the wise describe it in various ways. This sacred mantra became the foundation for accepting diversity. The global fanaticism and the resulting reign of terror have emerged largely from the insistence on uniformity in ways of worship (Religion). A sect that insists, "My God alone is true, all others are demons," aggressively seeks to convert everyone to its dogma. All communal conflicts stem from this narrow view. In Bharat, diversity was wholeheartedly accepted even in the realm of worship, which is why people of diverse beliefs have lived here in deep harmony for millennia. It is commonly proclaimed, "Unity in diversity is the specialty of Hind." However, in Bharatiya thought, this is not a superficial, artificial unity. In reality, the diverse manifestation of unity itself is our core mantra, and it is this very manifestation that we joyously celebrate.

Perfection already exists inherently within every living being. This dormant divinity constantly strives to express itself, and the ultimate goal of life is to manifest it completely. Education, training, livelihood, and relationships are all merely mediums to express this grand divinity of life. Inspired by this very principle, Swami Vivekananda famously defined education: “Education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man.” Let us attempt to understand this Shastric principle from a scientific perspective.

Our great Bharatiya Rishis perceived the existence of the universe at the level of cosmic energy. This was profound experiential knowledge, through which they realized the fundamental laws of the universe's structure. All other methods and traditions evolved from these eternal laws. The three scientific laws of existence and the cosmos are:

(A) Oneness (Ekatva) : The entire universe is organically one. Beneath the apparent diversity and differences on the surface, a single profound consciousness is at work. Today, modern science is also beginning to recognize this Oneness. Environmental experts declare that changes anywhere in the world affect the entire globe. This reality is becoming increasingly evident. It is now proven that a disaster in any one corner of the world impacts the entire global environment. The melting of ice at the North Pole results in rising temperatures in Africa and Europe. In physics, the study of subatomic particles reveals that the entire universe is intricately interconnected. The whole cosmos is one continuous existence of interrelated, complementary, and interdependent parts. This ‘Oneness’ is a matter of profound inner realization.

(B) Uniqueness (Advitiyata) : When Oneness manifests into plurality, every single expression is intrinsically unique. The Bharatiya principle proclaims that the One manifested into many—‘Ekoham Bahusyām.’ This diverse world is the glorious expression of that ‘One’. This manifestation is not a mechanical repetition. Even at the strictly physical level, everything in the universe is unique. Every human being is unique; no one is merely 'ordinary' or identical to another. Every individual is extraordinary and special in their own right. To understand this through a direct physical example: every person's fingerprints are unique. Out of the 7 billion people in the world, no two have identical fingerprints. Furthermore, even those who have passed away and those yet to be born possess unique fingerprints. This is the inviolable law of nature. Thus, this plurality is not merely producing multiple identical copies, but it is an expression in diverse forms, each bearing its own distinct specialty. This world is composed of diverse organs of one complete whole. The structure, function, and role of each part are entirely unique. Each of us must realize our own uniqueness; only then will our role become clear, enabling us to make a productive contribution to the nation. Awakening this knowledge is the paramount goal of education.

(C) Organic Relationship (Jaivik Sambandh) : The myriad parts possess an organic relationship with the whole. Just as a branch broken from a tree dries up, a part cannot survive without its connection to the whole. A branch attached to the tree blossoms and bears fruit, but withers the moment it is severed. Similarly, without a deep connection to the Oneness, the existence of the different parts of the world is meaningless. It is absolutely essential to understand the living, organic relationship of a human being with other human beings, with society, and with nature. The mutual relationship of the entire universe is complementary and vibrant. We are all parts of that same ‘One’. Just as different organs have their specific functions and each is special and vital in itself, similarly, every individual, family, and society has a specific and crucial function in the world. It is necessary to experience this deeply. This profound sense of social consciousness is also an indispensable aspect of education.

By thoroughly understanding these three laws, aligning one's life goal with the Supreme Whole, and manifesting one's role, duty, and inherent nature through righteous action—this is the true manifestation of Divinity. This is the most scientific method of forging a purposeful and glorious life.

Spirituality is the very innate nature of Bharat. Consequently, unshakeable faith in the Divine profoundly manifests in all aspects of our life. Whether it be the sublime arts like dance and music, or crafts like leatherwork, metallurgy, or even martial weaponry, the ultimate goal of all endeavors is the realization of the Divine. We have oriented even the pursuit of desire (‘Kama’) towards the Divine; this is the profound essence behind the magnificent sculptures of the Khajuraho and Konark temples. The supreme objective of acquiring knowledge in Bharat is God-realization. In our glorious tradition, mathematical computation is not merely for calculating mercantile profits, but rather a profound medium through which we seek the ultimate truth beyond numbers—the immutable Divine. When we speak of Ishwarnishtha (Faith in the Divine), we are not merely talking about blind theism. We do not demand blind belief in anything. Our emphasis is firmly on realization, not just assumption. Therefore, even an atheist can embark upon the path of knowledge in Bharat, yet their ultimate goal of acquiring knowledge will always be the realization of the absolute Truth. For them, faith in the Divine takes the powerful form of unyielding devotion to Truth (Satyanishtha). Vedic mantras like ‘Īśāvāsyamidaṃ Sarvam’ (All this is enveloped by the Divine) and shlokas from the Gita like ‘Samaṃ Sarveṣu Bhūteṣu’ (Equally present in all beings) brilliantly illuminate this core principle. Today, owing to the deeply flawed Western imposition of 'secularism', we have tragically expelled this most fundamental objective of knowledge from our education system.

The deep spiritual empathy towards organic creation resulted in Bharat adhering to a unique, unparalleled paradigm of holistic and sustainable development for millennia. The harmonious attainment of both Abhyudaya (material prosperity) and Nishreyas (spiritual elevation) was established as the ultimate goal of life. This is the precise definition of Dharma: ‘Abhyudaya Nishreyasau Dharmah.’ Abhyudaya means material development, but alongside it, Nishreyas—the evolution of the soul—must be constantly nurtured. The two are inextricably linked. Therefore, true development can never occur at the cost of destroying nature. While striving for material prosperity, one must concurrently ensure the well-being of both society and the cosmos. Only then is your development considered Dharmic. Dharma is the foundational Purushartha (goal of human life) that supports the other three: Artha (wealth), Kama (desire), and Moksha (liberation). Only wealth earned and desires fulfilled strictly in accordance with Dharma are acceptable. Rooted in Dharma, the pursuit of wealth and fulfillment of desires naturally protect and honor the family, society, and the environment. Holistic development is only possible through this grand synthesis. Through the framework of the four Purusharthas and the Ashrama system, Dharma was deeply embedded in the social consciousness of our nation. The sublime ideal of renunciation was beautifully captured in the Vedic directive: "Produce with a hundred hands and distribute with a thousand"—‘Śatahastena Samāhara, Sahasrahastena Saṃkīra.’

Bharat’s glorious tradition of trade and commerce has thrived continuously for thousands of years. While we have always bestowed the highest reverence upon renunciation and asceticism, it absolutely does not mean we glorified poverty. Bharat has eternally been the worshipper of Goddess Lakshmi (prosperity). We were the undisputed global leaders in both formidable productivity and vast international trade. From the distant islands of the Far East to the shores of the Mediterranean, our merchant ships exported not only immense wealth but also our profound culture. Trade flourished vibrantly across the Silk Route from Central Asia to China. This entire magnificent trade was strictly rooted in Dharma. The impeccable integrity and authentic conduct of Hindu merchants have found a place of honor in the languages, proverbs, and legends of numerous countries. Even today, there is a famous proverb in the Japanese language: "A Hindu never lies." This extraordinary reputation is the proud result of centuries of righteous conduct by our great merchants. This is the true ideal of Samutkarsh.

At the turn of the millennium in 2000 AD, the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) commissioned the renowned economist Angus Maddison to document the economic history of the world. After rigorous research, the monumental book "The World Economy: A Millennial Perspective" was published, presenting 2000 years of economic history starting from the birth of Christ. The data clearly shows that until the beginning of the 15th century, Bharat unequivocally led the world. Bharat commanded a staggering 43% to 66% of global trade and gross world product. Later, with the rise of China, Bharat’s proportional share appears to decline—not because our massive production decreased, but because the global proportion shifted. Even at the beginning of the 19th century, right when the brutal British colonial rule was solidifying its grip, Bharat’s glorious contribution to the world output was still an impressive 23%. Intensive research is vital to deeply understand how this great principle of Samutkarsh was effectively established in our society and its formal systems. We must courageously re-implement that very paradigm of indigenous development today, suitably adapted to the needs of the modern era. To achieve this, this supreme principle must become a core subject of study within our education system.

Bharatiya culture is fundamentally collective in nature. All our sacred Vedic prayers are chanted in the plural form. Swami Vivekananda went so far as to declare that individual salvation is simply impossible without the collective. This profound sanskar (value) of collectivism is an unparalleled and glorious specialty of Bharat. From early childhood, an individual is meticulously trained to sacrifice for the larger collective unit. An individual must readily sacrifice for the family, the family for the society and village, and the village must sacrifice for the paramount glory of the Nation—this is our timeless traditional message.

**“Tyajedekaṃ Kulasyārthe Grāmasyārthe Kulaṃ Tyajet.

Grāmaṃ Janapadasyārthe, Ātmārthe Pṛthivīṃ Tyajet॥”**

True honor belongs solely to the collective. In the past, specific communities (jatis) and social structures acted as vital mediums for expanding an individual's mind and developing collective character. However, since these identities have unfortunately acquired narrow political forms, the fierce awakening of glorious Nationality (Rashtriyata) is now the supreme and most effective medium for this development in the present era.

To ignite robust nationalism in students, awakening a deep-seated pride in the Nation is absolutely vital. For this, developing an accurate, indigenously rooted historical perspective is mandatory. Students must be trained to look at our history with immense self-pride and dignity. All nations exaggerate their achievements to build national pride. In Bharat, there is absolutely no need to forcefully exaggerate our glory; we only need to fearlessly present the unvarnished truth before the current generation. The most crucial element in awakening nationality is fierce pride in one's own nation. Tragically, today’s generation lacks this pride because they have been mis-educated to believe that everything good and superior comes from abroad, turning foreign travel into a misplaced status symbol. Therefore, to build an invincible national character, students must be imparted comprehensive knowledge of the glorious achievements of our motherland. The spectacular accomplishments of our countrymen—both in the ancient past and the present—across all fields of knowledge and science must form the core of our curriculum. Thus, viewing history through the correct, indigenous lens is critical for forging a powerful national character.

Along with deep national pride, one must remain acutely conscious of the National Goal. True, effortless progress happens when an individual’s personal life goal aligns perfectly with the grand objective of the Nation. This alignment brings the realization of the Nation's sacred vow (Vrata). A nation can achieve its highest potential only when it is vibrantly awake to its vow. The root cause of all the challenges facing our country today is that Bharat has, momentarily, forgotten its supreme vow.

The absolute welfare of the entire world is the very life-mission of Bharat. We pray, “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah”. Our grand ideal is to elevate all of humanity to its highest nobility—“Kṛṇvanto Viśvamāryam”. Imparting the supreme science and art of human life, originally discovered and perfected in Bharat, to the entire globe is Bharat's eternal destiny. This is precisely why Bharat has been eternally revered as the Vishwaguru (Teacher of the World). Today, reclaiming this exalted, rightful position must be the burning life-goal of every single organ of the nation.

Mere individual character-building is vastly insufficient. The ultimate goal of education is the forging of a colossal national character alongside holistic personality development and moral elevation. If an individual's intellect, talent, and wealth are not completely surrendered to the noble cause of the Nation, they are not only useless but become the very instruments of destruction. Therefore, cultivating nationalism through emotional and spiritual elevation forms an invincible collective character. This is the bedrock of eternal Bharatiya values.

Bharat is inherently a vibrant culture of profound relationships. We affectionately address even absolute strangers with titles indicating familial bonds. Walking on the street, we naturally call out to an unknown person as 'Bhaisahab' (brother) or 'Behanji' (sister). For us, absolutely everyone is family. We reverently call our school the 'Shala-Parivar' (School-Family). Even colleagues working in a bank branch are considered the 'Shakha-Parivar' (Branch-Family). For us, the ultimate ideal for any collective unit is the Family. A group can express its absolute best and reach its zenith only when it evolves organically into a family. Profound affinity, supreme sacrifice, unwavering cooperation, and steadfast fulfillment of duties—these sacred family values are the only foundation upon which true collective action, what the modern world terms 'teamwork', is genuinely possible. The grand ideal of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ is the ultimate blueprint for establishing these Bharatiya family values across the entire globe.

Yajna is an absolutely unique and unparalleled concept of Bharatiya culture. If every action is performed as an offering (Aahuti) in a grand Yajna, a deeply noble sense of responsibility awakens in our karma. The meaning of Yajna is not merely offering oblations into the sacred fire, though that ritual in itself is profoundly scientific; the core concept of Yajna runs far deeper. The cooperation of the cosmos is indispensable for sustaining our life cycle. The immense contributions of the larger collective units to our individual lives act as a sacred debt upon us. The divine medium to repay this debt and become free from it is Yajna. It is the most beautiful instrument for fulfilling our social duties. To seamlessly weave this into our daily lives, Bharatiya culture brilliantly instituted the Pancha Mahayajna (Five Great Sacrifices): Nara Yajna, Bhuta Yajna, Pitru Yajna, Deva Yajna, and Brahma or Rishi Yajna. Yajna is the supreme expression of gratitude towards everyone and everything that contributes to sustaining our lives. Nara Yajna involves offering food to guests; treating a stranger as one's own and feeding them is our soulful method of expressing gratitude to the countless unknown humans who contribute to our well-being. Bhuta Yajna is the awakening of deep empathy toward all living creatures. Expressing reverence for our family and glorious ancestors is Pitru Yajna, and Deva Yajna is performed to rejuvenate the environmental forces that nourish the entire creation. The utterly selfless work undertaken to advance the supreme knowledge that has sustained our national tradition since time immemorial constitutes Brahma Yajna.

Offering oblations into the sacred fire pit (Havan Kund) is one physical form of Yajna, and it is entirely scientific. Continuous research is validating its profound scientific nature and far-reaching effects. Simultaneously, it is crucial to understand the deep science of Yajna and adapt its application to suit the demands of the modern era.

In the philosophy of Integral Humanism, Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay beautifully elucidates the concept of Yajna through a sublime paradigm. The smaller unit (the individual or Vyashti) is born from the larger collective unit (the society or Samashti). The larger unit nourishes and protects the smaller unit; this divine protection is called Yogakshema. Empowered by Yogakshema, the individual becomes capable of performing karma (action). The individual then offers their karma to the larger collective. In return for this karma, the individual receives the fruits of their actions from the society. In this magnificent exchange, the initial Yogakshema remains a sacred debt upon the individual. The eternal path to repay this debt is Yajna. Yajna means an action performed with absolute selflessness, without the slightest expectation of any return. This selfless offering is the true meaning of life. Society itself is nourished and strengthened through this Yajna. It is only because the cycle of Yajna continues uninterrupted that society retains the formidable capacity to nurture the next generation.

When this profound sense of responsibility permeates all actions, life becomes utterly complete and fulfilled. It is precisely the result of this magnificent Yajna culture that Duties (Kartavya) have always been given paramount importance in Bharat. Rights, in the selfish modern sense, were never a subject of discourse. In Sanskrit, the word ‘Adhikar’ denotes eligibility or merit. To say someone is an ‘Adhikari’ for respect or a position means they possess the inherent merit for it. The English word 'Right' is closer to entitlement. Making a selfish claim has never been the meaning of Adhikar in our glorious tradition. Even in the modern sense, the protection of everyone's rights is possible only through the stringent fulfillment of duties. Focusing solely on individual rights while blatantly ignoring duties has caused a severe lack of self-reliance and discipline in today’s society. A mighty awakening of Yajna Karma will decisively rectify this.

The Bharatiya vision of life is entirely and profoundly Shastriya (scientific). The true synonym for the English word Science is Shastra. However, Shastra is not merely a superficial cause-and-effect relationship at the level of gross external matter. In Bharat, Shastra refers to the profound realization of all levels of the supreme conscious element operating at the very root of this visible universe. Our great Rishis acquired intimate, comprehensive knowledge of ‘Prana’—the subtlest form of cosmic energy—down to the most microscopic detail. They thoroughly understood the quantity, flow, momentum, and qualities of Prana existing in various elements of the universe, and based on that impeccable foundation, they developed a highly scientific way of life. Vastu Shastra, Ayurveda, Shakun Vidya, Yoga—all are solidly rooted in this Prana Vidya (Science of Life Force). How much importance to accord to which flora in daily life also securely depends on this. Our deeply scientific systems of time calculation, architecture, and agriculture all evolved from this glorious Shastriya foundation. Even the common rules observed daily in our households are firmly based on this scientific rigor. Because the Sun is the ultimate source of all cosmic energy in our solar system, our entire life is intimately connected to it. Keeping this in mind, the magnificent daily routine (Dincharya) was designed. The twilight periods when there is light before the sun rises in the morning and after it sets in the evening are called Sandhikal. During these sacred transition times, Tamasic activities—such as sleeping, cutting hair, or trimming nails—were strictly prohibited. Whatever emotion or intention one holds during Sandhi yields a massively multiplied outcome. Therefore, the morning Sandhi is dedicated to worship, study, and meditation, while the evening Sandhi is allocated for physical exertion. The profound science behind every such traditional act can be clearly understood. The supreme importance of Tulsi, Peepal, and the Cow (Gau Mata) can also be perfectly understood through this Prana Vigyan. The great scientist Jagadish Chandra Bose initiated pioneering experiments in this direction. He conclusively proved that plants possess life (Prana). He even initiated experiments to prove the presence of Prana in metals, successfully demonstrating the effects of poison on metals. Unfortunately, his revolutionary work was not carried forward after him.

It is precisely because of this extraordinarily scientific vision that Bharat prioritized inner realization (Anubhuti) far above mere external experiments for the acquisition of knowledge. Realization that transcends mere sensory observation is the true, authentic medium of knowledge. In Bharat, merely hoarding information is not considered knowledge. True knowledge means direct experience. This is, in fact, the ultimate scientific method. Complete and infinite knowledge resides within every individual; it only needs to be manifested. This is possible only through direct experience. Therefore, experiential knowledge alone holds supreme value. All knowledge, from the mundane to the highest spiritual truth, is attained solely through inner realization. It is due to this extraordinarily broad and inclusive thought that Bharat’s doors have always remained wide open for knowledge from all directions.

“Ā No Bhadrāḥ Kratavo Yantu Viśvataḥ” — Let noble and auspicious thoughts come to us from all directions of the universe. This is our magnificent core mantra.

We have encapsulated the profound principles of Bharatiyata into these 9 core elements. They can be expanded infinitely, but these are the fundamental pillars. All other aspects naturally fall under them:

Implementing all these eternal principles in every single sphere of life will be the realization of True Independence (Swarajya). Vigorously applying these eternal, scientific elements of Bharatiyata to every organ of our education system is the sacred mission of the Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal.
